t-shirt graphic for the wick motorcycles and coffee

In the summer of 2023, The Wick -- a motorcycle-centric coffee shop located in the Seattle Triumph dealership -- contacted me to do a shirt graphic for them. Much of their previous merch was focused on the act of riding motorcycles and the journeys involved so I wanted to take a different approach and focus on the shop itself. In the lounge area upstairs, they have an old Sega Super Hang On machine -- a classic motorcycle racing arcade game. Such a unique part of the space had to be the centerpiece of the design.

I took The Wick's word mark and revised the main menu for the game, keeping the color count to a minimum to keep printing costs down and keeping the detail fine enough that it would reflect the source material well enough but not cause issues at the printer. Reworking the Sega logo to say "Seattle" was particularly fun.

To flesh out the design, I hybridized the top view of a latte rosette with the front wheel of a scrambler they keep in the front window -- again keeping with the graphic being inspired by the space itself -- playing on the circular shape they share. I finished the graphic by adding a starburst behind the whole thing to bring some energy and play up the arcade elements of the machine in the center.
