But They're Obviously MONSTERS! or: How to Have Positive Discussions with People You Disagree With was a project I put together during pandemic lockdown as I watched the way people talked to and about each other on social media spiral into more and more toxic depths. Building on what I learned from making Get It, or: Why Art is Also for You, I wrote, illustrated, designed, and self-published this light hearted, step-by-step guide (with an appendix of more in depth ideas) to having discussions with people who disagree on various topics without devolving into name-calling, assumptions, and other traps that can preclude the opportunity to learn from each other and change the minds of others -- or our own.
